#1 mistake to avoid in YouTube automation

this makes or breaks your channel...

I see this mistake literally everywhere

new creators will go on YouTube... search whatever topic they're interested in... and they immediately look at the biggest channels

they find a channel with 1 million subs, 2 million subs, or even 5 million subs and think:

"oh wow this niche must be working, look how successful they are!"

then they basically try to remake the exact same content

they upload their first video and get... 47 views

so they sit there confused, thinking:

"what did I do wrong?

but it’s obvious... of course it doesn’t work like that...

those massive channels didn't blow up because their niche is easy to crack

they've been grinding for years with big teams and huge budgets to spend on their production... that you just don't have

so when you compete with them of course you're gonna get destroyed

most people completely miss this...

if you're trying to find a winning niche, here's how to do it instead:

hunt for the outliers

I'm talking about channels with like 8K subs... but somehow one of their videos has 600K views

or channels with 15K subs that randomly pulled 1 million views on a single upload

that's the signal you actually want to see

and here's why…

when a tiny channel with basically no following gets massive views, it tells you that the topic itself is powerful enough to cut through all the noise

the market is literally hungry for that content... but there aren't enough people making it

the algorithm is showing you exactly where demand exceeds supply

think about it logically...

if a channel with 7K subs can pull 800K views on a video about "AI productivity tools"... what does that actually tell you?

it tells you people are actively searching for this stuff

the algorithm is pushing it because it gets crazy engagement

but there's clearly not enough creators making quality content about it... otherwise that small channel wouldn't have gotten such insane reach

that's your golden opportunity right there

and honestly this is exactly what separates channels that hit $10K/month from the ones that stay stuck at 100 subs forever

like anyone can copy the biggest channels... that's what amateurs do

but smart creators try to find the gaps in the market and fill them strategically

so pick a niche

search it on YouTube

then start looking for those outlier videos... small channels with view counts that just don't make sense for their subscriber count

screenshot them, study the topics, and look for patterns

and if you do this properly... with enough time, you will be sitting at $10k/mo without even realizing it...

I've seen this work over and over again with my students

like Matyas found one of these outlier topics in his niche... made a similar video... and pulled $15K in 40 days starting from zero

OR Reed who did the same thing and made $6K in his first 45 days

this is exactly how you actually break through on YouTube in 2025

most people are out here guessing and hoping for the best

but when you use data like this... you're basically playing with cheat codes
