how to avoid shadowbans

Do this even if your content is good

is it possible to have everything right and still get no views?

yes

you can have the BEST youtube video out there,

but if your channel is shadowbanned then it won’t matter,

youtube will think you're a bot and will restrict your reach completely.

that’s why your videos might be stuck at 0-10 views right now,

so let me show you how to avoid shadowbans before you waste weeks posting content nobody will ever see.

1) don't customize your channel before your first few uploads

wait until you post 2-3 videos before changing your username, profile picture, bio, or any settings.

youtube shadowbans channels more often when you change everything right away.

cuz it looks suspicious.

and tbh your channel name doesn't matter for your first few videos anyway.

so just leave it.

2) don't private all previous uploads at once

if you're using an aged or monetized channel that has old videos on it,

leave them there.

privating everything before uploading new content makes youtube suspicious and can mess with your monetization status.

and old uploads don't hurt your new content's performance.

so ignore them until you get consistent traffic after a few uploads.

3)  warm up your channel (most important)

this applies to every type of channel (fresh, aged, or monetized)

here's how:

watch random content for 30 minutes to 1 hour per day.

engage like a normal youtube user.

don't leave videos on for 10 hours straight or youtube will think you're a bot.

subscribe to 1-2 channels per day. not more.

like less than half the videos you watch (don't overdo it tho)

comment on about 1/3 of the videos you watch.

do this for 2 weeks minimum before posting your first video.

longer is even better but 2 weeks is the sweet spot.

now…

if you don’t know if your channel is shadowbanned

here’s how to find out:

if you already posted and you're getting no views:

go to youtube studio → analytics → reach → check "how viewers find this video"

if you're getting less than 50 impressions total, you're probably shadowbanned.

if your traffic sources are 100% youtube search or 100% suggested videos (and nothing else), you're probably shadowbanned.

if you see browse features or homepage in your traffic sources with decent impressions,

then you're good

follow this and you'll avoid wasting weeks on a shadowbanned channel

most people skip the warmup because they're too excited to start posting.
